A blurb about what John has been doing during the holiday time:
"JOHN MAYER (musician) 'I'm going to hang out with my family. ... You know you've got to work harder these days to disappear, so I'm going to try a little harder, which basically means I won't leave the house or the studio.'" from Chicago Tribune. Great plan John!!
Have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday everyone!
Not much news but John will be on Conan the 29th, but it's a repeat from 2005.
Couple more things, La Times blog reviewing "Say", read that here. And John performed with Rob Thomas this morning at WPLJ FM, info/pic here.
Pino has an interview up on Bass Player, around the end he says "The Who will tour into next spring, and the John Mayer Trio will be backÑwhich IÕm thrilled about, because itÕs some of the most fun IÕve ever had. IÕm just happy and very fortunate to be able to ride the wave.", so Trio is coming back in 2008!
Added pics from the Bucket List premiere which was yesterday. And a blurb on USA Today:
""This is a song that was written completely for the movie. I didn't write a single word until I saw the film. The song was born completely out of the movie and I'm so honored that anyone would think to hand me this project. It was one of the few moments of my career where I could look outward and tell where I was. It was like, 'Wow. This is Jack Nicholson and Rob Reiner.' " —John Mayer, who wrote and performed Say for the film"
Wasn't able to get ACL caps yet but I'm workin on it!

Arbell has sent me a press release about the Crossroads DVD...
"Three years ago, Eric Clapton assembled a who's who of guitar masters for the first Crossroads Guitar Festival, raising funds for the Crossroads Centre, Antigua, a chemical dependency treatment and education facility Clapton founded. The sold-out show yielded a double-DVD that has been certified platinum eight times on the way to becoming one of the worlds' top-selling music DVDs."
"In a second stunning effort earlier this year, Clapton invited old friends and new for the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. The all-star cast featured Steve Winwood, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Jeff Beck, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, John Mayer, Doyle Bramhall II, and more. Rhino Entertainment captured every angle with a two-DVD set chronicling that scorching summer day in Chicago with Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 From Chicago."

Very short setlist:

Gravity
Thats it. But before that, he did a duet with Sarah, on "World on Fire". Sarah was awesome and John too, but yeah, way, way, way too short. The rest of the performances were OK. I added my extremely crappy pictures just for the heck of it, here, didn't have great seats, but the fun only lasted 10 minutes:) Come back soon John!

CD/DVD Combo, available for pre-order at play.com. Combo includes Continuum album plus a bonus DVD that includes a 42-minute live performance from the Webster Hall show in New York City.
Digital
Version, available in the iTunes UK Store. The album will include three bonus tracks from The Village Sessions EP as well as a digital booklet."
Another blurb from FoxNews
"Clapton: Wonderful Last Night
Eric Clapton’s memoir is excerpted this month in Vanity Fair, so it only made sense that the magazine gave a little fete for him Wednesday night.
The location, of course, was Editor in Chief Graydon Carter’s Waverly Inn, where the Clapton crowd took up the whole back garden area.
Among the guests were John Mayer, record producer Russ Titelman, VF rock writer Lisa Robinson (who did a swell job on the current issue’s music features), former MTV/Viacom chief Tom Freston, charming Time Warner investor Vivo Nevo and Armani PR ambassador Wanda McDaniel, among others."
Some interesting news from Direct Current:
"John Mayer's "Continuum" will be re-released in a special two-disc expanded edition on November 20. Bonus material has not been announced, but look for a half dozen live tracks to augment the original album along with new artwork and an expanded booklet. More details to come.
The releases of Mayer's "Unplugged" project, meanwhile, has been pushed back to 2008. In addition to collaborating with Alicia Keys on her new album, Mayer has begun work on his next studio project, promising an even more different approach musically. Describing a mix of blues, R+B, hip-hop, jazz and rock, Mayer says he's looking to create "modern music.""

Also appearing during this season’s seventeen-week run are John Mayer, Bloc Party, and Crowded House. We’ve already set our TiVos for the 11/3 (Wilco) and 11/10 (Arcade Fire) episodes". Cleaned up the appearances page as well.
John performed with Bon Jovi yesterday at VH1's save the music foundation, check out a review article here. Check out pictures here. Also added Christopher Ward's night two pictures from the Royal Albert concert here.
Here's another Rolling Stone blurb: "The red carpet fuss at last night’s VH1 Save the Music gala centered around two people: John Mayer and Mariah Carey. Quick-witted Mayer seemed especially eager to avoid commenting on his personal life (in answer to the query “Who’s the lady in your life” he responded, “Aunt Jemima, and I can’t wait to go home and get me some flapjacks!”). Mayer confirmed to Rock Daily that he’s planning to relax a bit before working on his next record, and when asked who he’d like to secure for his upcoming rock cruise, he proclaimed, “I want Isaac!” The bartender from The Love Boat? We think so."
Quick post, VH1 is airing the Mayercraft carrier commercial, which looks hilarious! Check out promo outtakes here. I should be adding more concert pictures tomorrow.

John Announces Weekend Cruise Getaway for February 2008!
There's no better place to enjoy the wonderful weather of February than the Bahamas. With that in mind...
We are pleased to announce the first ever John Mayer-hosted cruise: The Mayercraft Carrier.
The Mayercraft Carrier is a 3-day Caribbean cruise that sets sail on February 1, 2008 from Miami, FL and visits Freeport, Bahamas before returning on February 4, 2008. The cruise will feature sets by John in nightclub-like settings as well as performances by a dozen or so other hand-picked artists. All of this takes place aboard the Carnival Victory, a member of the Carnival fleet that includes all the luxurious amenities Carnival is known for such as a full service spa, fine dining, a casino, and much more.
Availability is limited and as a Local 83 member you will have the benefit of booking before the general public. Cruise fare starts at $699 per person based on double-occupancy. Keep an eye on MayercraftCarrier.com. In the coming weeks we will be launching a full-blown website for detailed information.
Replace the mittens with suntan lotion, the resolutions with buffet feasts, and your car in traffic with a 90,000-ton cruise ship full of rock bands!
See you aboard.

Reverb To (Light) Green John's Tour This Summer!
Our friends at Reverb will be on the road with us this summer helping to green up some basic elements of the tour. They'll be helping offset our shows with wind power, fueling our buses with biodiesel and putting together a "village" in the concourse that consists of environmentally and socially minded non-profits and green sponsor types. You'll be able to learn about renewable energy and alternative fuels, talk to local groups in your area doing good things, register to vote, sample tasty organic treats and much more.
Reverb is also looking for a few good volunteers to help get info out, staff the booths and help with the recycling efforts. Email JohnMayerVolunteer@ReverbRock.org and go to their weblink below to get involved.
To find out more about what Reverb is up to on the road with us and how you can help, visit: www.ReverbRock.org/JohnMayer
Eat and Greet Update!
The new "Eat and Greet" benefit is in effect for most of the summer shows. If you purchased a ticket through Local-83, you're automatically in the running to meet John before your show! In addition, food and refreshments will be served before the meet. Five (5) winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone prior to each show date, so please make sure your member information is updated. Winners may bring one (1) guest of their choice. Guests do not have to be Local-83 members. We look forward to seeing you backstage! Sorry, no cameras or camera phones while backstage.

Ok so I did some updating in the gallery and appearance page. I added the Canada and Australia tour official JM pictures. I also updated the tv and magazine section.
I also wanted to do a little plug for the Picture Frame Forum, if you haven't join yet your more then welcome to, we can use some new memebers!
I was going through the gallery and relize we didn't have much fan concert pictures this year if anyone has any they want to share, we would love to have them!
Also on the Rock On Tv.com John looks like he's going to be on Leno June 11th!
I also wanted to say that the question number 13 on the contest was worded wrong so the answer is going to be different. I had it what was the best song John felt he wrote and I mistakely put down Gravity when its infact Heart Of Life. Gravity was the most important song John felt he wrote but Heart Of Life he feels is the best he's written so far. This doesn't change points though cause even If I gave everyone an extra point it won't change anything :/ So that is my fault I'm sorry! I appreciate those who e-mailed me, I can't get everything right, I've been a fan for 6 years now and even now and again I get my JM information wrong ;) But I will make it up to the people who entered I promise ;)
John was with Jessica at the "Poiret: King of Fashion" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You can see them at Getty, and Wire Image.
Posted pictures from the event in the gallery.
I have the Times scan here
I also finally have winners to the contest, you can see who won and the answers to the questions here. I want to thank everyone for joining in, I got so many entries, and hopefully everyone had fun!!!

Enjoy!
This is very important, I stated right on the contest page I DO NOT want e-mails before the end of the contest, I made it bold and clear, I do not want 14 e-mails from who knows how many people will sends me answers. You are given a date, April 25th is the last day, you will then be able to send me your answers in ONE e-mail. Please read the contest information. I want this to be fun for everyone, but it won't be fun for me if I am getting hundreds of e-mails, that is way to much. Please, please read the contest page here. For those people who sent me e-mails I'll let it go this once but If it happens again and I keep getting more I am just not going to count them at all.
Also just so that Dora or Theresa aren't getting bombed with e-mails to, and that everything goes to one person, please e-mail just me so I can get all your e-mails, other wise I'll have alot of forward mail and it makes it harder to keep track of. Thanks guys!

I put up the information about the contest here, if there is anything that you don't understand or want to know more about feel free to e-mail me anytime! If you ever need to get to that page again, I put up the link in the navigation bar, under interaction.
I think now is the time to announce what the big "surprise" is. I know the site has so many supportive people and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who have still supportive us and John, it means a lot to us. We know that many of the people who do support us, felt left out because we took the commenting system off, but we still want to hear your voices.
So I thought to give back to you guys, the rest of April and most of May, it will be a John Mayer Fan Appreciation month. There will be different things I’ll be doing on the site that everyone can get involved with.
But right now the biggest thing I am announcing is that starting Thursday April 12th, there will be a contest that will be kicking off. Rules and information will be posted tomorrow :)
I know not everyone likes contests but don’t worry, I have other things planned that hopefully everyone will enjoy!
Also another summer tour date has been added, its Nampa, ID on June 3rd. Local-83 pre-sale begins at 10 am local venue time on April 13th

The good news is we’re offering a new fabulous opportunity to a handful of lucky Local-83 members for each show on the summer tour. Make sure to bring your appetite. More details to come…

The Letterman performance is up on Score. (Caps later tonight) Caps here. Articles: John Mayer Goes Out With Alicia Keys — At Sold-Out New York Show,
The Apologetic Pop Star, Still Trying to Claim the Blues. And in case you would like a highlight from the Lindsay Brandt interview...(our lovely Ter typed this up)
"Lindsay: Somebody asked you about your fans. Recently I know you've had some backlash with your fans, people being happy. People being unhappy. I was wondering, because you do have that amazing connection to your fans that not a lot of fans get to their favorite celebrity. I was wondering. You said something about "there comes a time in an artists career where they're going to have to divorce their fans". I just wanted you to elaborate on that, so people can hear your side of the story.
John: No I just hate them, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. My managers in the background going ugh you just doubled up the problem. You just doubled down. I like doubling down. Because everything's fine. No. The point that I was in the middle of making in that interview it that actually at some point artists do and that my fans, i think fans expect that, they're very nervous that's going to happen. The only up in arms that I know, kinda came from that interview where people were saying "well, the word divorce kinda stuck out as a real interesting kinda verb" ya know, and um, but for me the point was that every artist at some point has been known to do it. So my fans are waiting for when that moment is. So they're kinda going, "this is it, this has gotta be it, this has gotta be it". But in the middle of saying that the interviewer went on with a different point about something. but then I came back saying well this is how I stay connected. I just think it's very interesting when you put paragraphs in bold, you start, you say "oh well there's the evidence I need" and the rest of it's underneath two more lines. No the point is that people are always expecting at some point 7 years into your career that you're going to do something that they're gonna go, "I like early Mayer. I liked him before he 'blank' ". And it's uh, it's really interesting to fight that curve with people. Ya know, cause I feel, I know, I feel more connected to music and playing and more simple about it then I ever have before, you know."
There's another interview that Lindsay Brandt did last night, which was aired here. There should be a download available sometime soon.

Stephanie and Theresa said it so well already...Very proud of you. -Dora
I'm gonna add to what stephanie said. I wish the voters saw it the same as we do, but alas they did not. but so what. He's got two more that he completely deserves and 5 nominations is outstanding. He might not have won anything in the rock category, and won the pop ones, but he broke a barrier and was at least nominated in the rock category. So little by litee, you're wearing them down John. Congratulations. You're a winner to us, even if your name is never engraved in gold.-Theresa
I just wanted to say that even if John didn’t win best album or rock album of the year, I’m still very proud of him and what he’s accomplished. This is just the start of something bigger for him and someday he will get his big night. He’s got so much more coming for him in the years to come. So thank you John for making such amazing music and I don’t need some award to tell me you’re a winner cause you are. Congratulation on everything.- Stephanie
